5 Reasons Why Being PC is Anti-Christian

Have you noticed? It seems like our freedom of speech and freedom of religion is in bondage to idiots. In America you can say anything you want as long as it's politically correct. Me, I am thinking of running for governor of MA, so I want to make sure everyone knows where I stand.

The PC Police (Tolerance Police in some asylums) have got us believing that offending someone is a bad thing. Love maybe kind, but it doesn't mean we have to cut anyone any slack. It should not be our goal to offend others, but sometimes the truth is offensive. For some reason the insanity of not being able to state facts has become common place. We've been trying to be politically correct for so long that we can't call a spade a spade. The fact that the very term uses the word "political" should be a clue.

When I was a kid, the garbageman came to to pick up the garbage. A classmate's father was the garbageman in my town, and he was a hardworking guy. Now they are called sanitation engineers. Do they drive garbage trains? The engineers that I work with have masters and doctorate degrees in real engineering. It seems sort of silly to me.

As a country, America is at war with radical Muslims. And in the WW II we were at war with radical white folks who claimed to be Christians. How politically correct was that? Now I am not suggesting that we use the "N" word, or the "G" word- I guess I am OK with the "F" word for now. Well as long as it stands for faith.

Before you start sending hate mail and rude comments - asking WWJD , consider these famous Bible characters.

Acts 23:3 Then Paul said to him, "God will strike you, you whitewashed wall! You sit there to judge me according to the law, yet you yourself violate the law by commanding that I be struck!"

And then there was the Master - and He had some stuff to say.

Matthew 23:27 "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of dead men's bones and everything unclean.

And Jesus acted on His faith.

Mark 11: 15 On reaching Jerusalem, Jesus entered the temple area and began driving out those who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves, 16and would not allow anyone to carry merchandise through the temple courts.

And our whiny friend Elijah the prophet - he was just enjoying himself on Mt. Carmel with a bunch of New Agers.

1 Kings 18:27 (TLB) At noon Elijah began to taunt them. "Shout louder!" he said. "Surely he is a god! Perhaps he is deep in thought, or on the toilet, or busy, or traveling. Maybe he is sleeping and must be awakened." 28 So they shouted louder and slashed themselves with swords and spears, as was their custom, until their blood flowed.

And finally, John the Baptist:

Matthew 3:7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to where he was baptizing, he said to them: "You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath?

And there you have it, some of the most famous Bible characters decided to tell it like it is. True, two of them were crucified, one was beheaded, and one was chased into the desert fearing for his life. But hey, when you number is up, it's up.

-1 Being PC is dishonest either by distortion of the truth, or by withholding the truth.

-2 Being PC is just not authentic. You might have noticed that the above named characters were taking the Kingdom of God by force, not worrying about polls.

-3 Being PC is misleading others, often causing them to sin.

-4 Being PC is hypocritical whereby we say one thing in public and another in private.

-5 Being PC it is anti-Christian and causes damage to the Kingdom of God because it is both loving and truthful.

Jesus is looking for warriors of the faith (Ephesians 6:10-18), and for and army that is ready to die for truth, not some half-baked semi-gospel or powerless-philosophy.

Are you politically correct? Here are a couple of hundred very UN-Politically Correct definitions. (I am not repsonsible for the content of Urban Dictionary)

At this old Southern Red Neck's age (me), I try to be PC but some times I don't give a Donkeys butt about offending if I feel it is justified.

Now when it comes to politics, the PC filter is off. It is time to call a spade a spade with what we have today.

One of my biggest problems with the whole PC thing is that it causes so much confusion and distortion. I want my life to be simple; for my "yes" and "no" to mean something, for my word to be something people know can be counted on. I want to keep it simple and direct.

Having said that; I do not have any problem with tact. I can be honest and direct and as kind as possible; I find that much easier to do when I'm, for lack of a better way to say it, prayed up and filled with God's love toward people instead of my need to be right.

Political Correctness , as Robert Hughes put it best, represents 'an inexhaustible flow of claptrap from the acedemic left.'

PC advocates began crying in the 1960's that the U.S. legal system was just an instrument for rich, white people, yet it's the proponents of multiculteralism that have used it to their advantage.

PC is hyprocrisy at its best. Love for all...except dead, white European males.

It is good not to offend people, we do want to live our lives in such a way that they are drawn to Christ.
But I do find this PC stuff confusing. Is it really wrong if I say Black instead of African American? (No I am not prejudiced) But it is o.k. to say White, caucasion is rarely used.
If we have to spend so much time thinking if what we day is o.k. with the PC police we might as well be mute.
Yes David, Jesus sure told off the Pharisees. I was reminded in church tonight that Stephen the first Christian martyr stoned to death because he was not PC. He called the Sanhedrin 'stiff necked people with uncirmucised hearts and ears. and he accused them of killing Jesus who was predicted by the prophets.
The Sanhedrin even covered their ears when Stephen described seeing heaven open and Jesus standing next to God.
Where will it end ? What will the PC name for the anti-christ be ?
I don't believe I will be here for that.
You folks are way over thinking this. What PC means is being polite.

Refer to people in the way that they prefer, without being dishonest. My own racial character could be called, "white", "caucasian", "red neck", or "euro american". If you want to irritate or belittle people, use the nastier terms. Sometimes that's exactly what you want to do.

@STS - I am going to disagree. Being polite is just not using Archie Bunker names, tone and heart.

What I am talking about is not being able to to disagree based on ones gender, race etc.

If a man steals from WalMart, can't we use is skin color to put out a description?

If a man is a Jihadist, can't we call him that?

Enough.

God is Great, Beer is Good, and People are Crazy

There was a discussion on Facebook today about how some people think Christians are "whack jobs." Regardless, God is still great. I don't really know much about beer. I haven't had one in just about 30 years. There are a lot of folks that consider themselves to be Christian. Some because they do good, and others because they have faith in God or are born again-- and others because they grew up in a Christian denomination. Far be it from me to decide who is in, and who is out. Some say we'll be surprised at who is going to be there, and others say who think they are in will be surprised when they are rejected at the Pearly Gates. Hmmm... But let's say you are a real Christian who is feeling passionate about doing something for God. You know something beyond throwing a few bucks in the offering plate and trying to be a good person. The church calls it service or ministry, which could include such things as: reading scriptures on Sunday morning, planning a harves...

They Are Going to Tax the Rich!

Health Care is law! I don’t know anyone that is against people having health care – I certainly am not. I have been working hard to quantify the cost of this new legislation. And they are going to add to the tax burden of those making over $200,000 per year. Some think that because the Good Samaritan paid for the injured man, we should too. It’s a strong statement. Here is what we are paying for the is new this year and in future years because of the health care plan. To quote Ric Edleman from who I gathered a lot of insight, "Life just got harder." 2010 - 10% tax on tanning (because we have, count em', 3,000 emergency room visits due to tanning bed injures each year!) in addition to your state and local taxes if there are any. (But we did get off on the botox clause because it was considered discrimination against woman and John Kerry.) - To pay for a deficit in it's mandatory health care system, Massachusetts, increased sales taxes, had a freeze on lowering property...
