Friday Ramblings - Unanswered Questions?

Today I have some unanswered questions. Some of these keep me awake at night, and others make me chuckle to myself.

- How come we let teenagers live past 13?
- How come air conditioners can only be put in when it 80+ and taken out when there is snow on the ground?
- If it is tourist season, how come we can't shoot one?
- Why would we want to drill oil when we could use electricity for cars?
- What year did Jesus think it was?
- Why does the president support policies that only 1/3 of the country wants when more than half voted for him?
- If Christians believe the Bible, why do so many think their thoughts and feelings are a better moral guide?
- Do Christians believe that the chicken came first - after all God did create the animals first, right?
- If all those psychics know the winning lottery numbers, why are they all still working?
- How come so many Christians think that money is the root of all evil?
- Why would anyone want to know how many calories are in a McDonald's Big Mac?
- Why would someone want to be called a Christian that doesn't believe the Bible?
- Why do drive-thru ATMs have braille?
- Why do men get married hoping she'll never change, and women get married thinking I can change him?
- If Lost was political satire, who was Ben?
- Why is there a light in the fridge and not in the freezer?
- If con is the opposite of pro, then what is the opposite of progress?

- If drinking and driving is illegal, why do bars have parking lots?
- Why do toasters always have a setting that burns the toast to a horrible crisp no one would eat?
- Can atheists get insurance for acts of God?
- If 7-11 is open 24-7 and 365 days a year why do they have locks on their doors?
- What do people in China call their good plates?
- If most car accidents occur within five miles of home, why doesn't everyone just move 10 miles away?
- How come when you are driving through a neighborhood looking for an address, you turn the radio down?

- Why would Jesus have died on the cross for doing good things?

I read this post with the voice of Jerry Seinfeld's in my head...

Of course with him being Jewish, the Jesus observations didn't really work with the voice...so I used Elvis.

Mad Libs: An Unforgettable Church Service

Hopefully you have heard of Mad Libs (R) ! They are stories that you blindly fill in the blanks for articles of grammar and then read the completed story. God is Great, Beer is Good, and People are Crazy

There was a discussion on Facebook today about how some people think Christians are "whack jobs." Regardless, God is still great. I don't really know much about beer. I haven't had one in just about 30 years. There are a lot of folks that consider themselves to be Christian. Some because they do good, and others because they have faith in God or are born again-- and others because they grew up in a Christian denomination. Far be it from me to decide who is in, and who is out. Some say we'll be surprised at who is going to be there, and others say who think they are in will be surprised when they are rejected at the Pearly Gates. Hmmm... But let's say you are a real Christian who is feeling passionate about doing something for God. You know something beyond throwing a few bucks in the offering plate and trying to be a good person. 5 1/2 The Home Group Experience

For years I have attended small groups, or home fellowships as they are sometimes called. They are an interesting blend of intimacy, arm chair theology and the real Jesus. Here is my take on the anatomy of a home or small group meeting -1 Worship: This is the time when we tell the Lord how much we love him in song. We praise him as the wight of the world lifts off our shoulders and we come into the presence of Almighty God.
